About Pamela Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP

I’m Pamela Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP, founder of Clear Communication Works, a boutique online speech-language pathology practice dedicated to helping individuals rebuild clear, confident communication.

Many of the individuals I work with are navigating mild to moderate communication changes related to stroke, brain injury, concussion, or cognitive communication challenges. Others seek support because organizing thoughts, participating in conversations, or communicating effectively in social or professional environments feels more difficult than it once did.

Often, these individuals are medically stable and functioning well in many areas of life, yet notice that communication requires more effort, clarity, or confidence than before.

My work focuses on helping adults strengthen the communication skills that support everyday conversations, professional interactions, and meaningful connection with others. Therapy is individualized and practical, emphasizing real-world communication strategies that help clients express their ideas more clearly and participate more comfortably in the conversations that matter most.

Why I Do This Work

Communication is central to how we connect with the world. When communication becomes difficult, it can affect confidence, independence, and participation in everyday life.

Many adults complete medical rehabilitation and are told they are “doing well,” yet still feel that something about their communication has changed. Words may take longer to come to mind. Conversations may require more effort. Professional communication may feel more demanding than before.

Clear Communication Works was created to support individuals during this stage of recovery when communication may still need strengthening even after formal rehabilitation services have ended.

My goal is to help clients/patients move beyond simply “getting by” in conversation and instead communicate with clarity, confidence, and ease again.

Areas of Specialization

Stroke & Neuro-Communication Recovery

Supporting adults who continue to experience communication changes following stroke or neurological injury. Therapy focuses on strengthening word retrieval, speech clarity, and conversational participation in everyday situations.

Executive Communication & Cognitive Clarity

Helping adults develop strategies that improve organization of ideas, verbal expression, and communication efficiency when cognitive or executive function challenges affect communication.

Return-to-Work Communication Support

Providing targeted communication training for individuals preparing to return to professional environments after neurological injury or cognitive communication changes.

Social Communication & Confidence

Support for individuals experiencing challenges with conversational flow, interpreting social cues, organizing thoughts during discussion, or communicating confidently in social and professional environments.

Sessions focus on real-world communication demands such as meetings, discussions, presentations, and explaining complex ideas clearly.

My Approach

My approach combines evidence-based speech-language pathology practices with practical communication strategies that translate directly into real-life situations.

Rather than focusing only on isolated exercises, therapy emphasizes the communication skills that matter most in everyday environments — conversations with family, interactions in the community, and professional communication demands.

Each therapy plan is individualized and collaborative, with strategies designed to support each patient’s goals, strengths, and communication environments.

A Practice Designed for Thoughtful, Personalized Care

Clear Communication Works is intentionally designed as a boutique practice, allowing for individualized attention and thoughtful therapy planning for every client/patient.

Services are delivered through secure online sessions, allowing adults to access specialized care from the comfort of their home while maintaining consistent participation in therapy.

If You’re Here, You’re Likely Looking for Change

Many clients come to Clear Communication Works when they are ready to:

• strengthen communication after stroke or brain injury
• improve clarity and organization when speaking
• regain confidence participating in conversations
• prepare for communication demands when returning to work

If you’re ready to move forward with clearer, more confident communication, I would be honored to support you.
